The YMCA of Rock River Valley is expanding access to Durand. Camp Winnebago will be providing staff and activities to Durand students throughout winter break.
Camp Winnebago’s “Camp Rekindle,” will run out of the Durand Elementary school and serve children 1st through 6th grade during winter break.
Camp Winnebago provides an environment for children to learn, grow, explore and thrive in a YMCA Day Camp program. Camp offers activities such as crafts, teambuilding, skits, and character
“Camp is a place where all children belong and can be themselves. They can try new things, make new friends and be a part of something great,” said Bif Buchan, Executive Director, Camping Services YMCA. “We are excited about this opportunity to provide greater access to Durand families. We
hope that there is enough interest from the community to green light plans to provide year-round childcare options – allowing families the ease of a local childcare option.”
Camp Rekindle will run weekdays from December 21 to January 3. It is $35/day OR $200 for all 8 days ($80 savings). Registration is now open for Camp Rekindle at Durand Elementary School. Registration is open to all area students. You do not have to be a Durand Elementary student to participate.
